The combination of high heat and humidity in the vicinity of a weak front triggered isolated showers and thunderstorms over parts of the area, but they have come to an end.

The highs Wednesday still managed to reach into the lower 90s in the area and dew points stayed in the upper 60s to low 70s, so it was another uncomfortable day, if you weren't in air conditioning.

More cells will pop up Thursday, and any afternoon and evening t-storms that form could produce brief downpours and may be slow to move, but again, activity won't be widespread. Temperatures should roll back into the 80s for Thursday.

Drier weather is in store Friday through most of the weekend with highs in the middle 80s. Current forecast models bring a cold front into the area late on Sunday with the hot weather pattern breaking for the start of next work week.

Enjoy your evening and stay cool! -Stormtracker 19 Chief Meteorologist Dan Breeden
