LA CRESCENT, MN (WXOW) - An environmental impact study is on the project still at least two years out, and construction depends on it.
But the deadline to submit opions about the CapX 2020 powerline is just a month away.
More than 50 residents stopped by the American Legion in La Crescent to learn more about the project on Tuesday.
Its a $2 billion dollar plan designed to meet the increasing electricity needs of a growing population.
But opponents say its not necessary, its too expensive, and would have a long lasting environmental impact.
