WILLMAR, Minn. (AP) - A nuisance ordinance that grew out of a homecoming prank gone bad goes before Kandiyohi (kan-dee-YOH'-heye) County commissioners on Tuesday.
The board will consider whether to give police more tools to deal with vandals who deface homes with items like toilet paper, eggs and paint. They could be charged with a petty misdemeanor and be forced to pay a maximum fine of $300.
The ordinance aims to head off incidents like one last year during homecoming when a man used a squirt gun to spray fox urine at people he thought were going to toilet paper his house. He was a past vandalism victim.
Kandiyohi County is in west central Minnesota.
