La Crosse, WI (WXOW) A Minnesota man faces charges after an altercation with police officers in downtown La Crosse early Sunday morning.
Police say 18 year Janari Payton of Rochester confronted officers who tried to intervene in a fight outside the Cognac Club on 3rd street shortly after 1 AM Sunday.
As officers tried to arrest him, Payton allegedly grabbed for one of the officers weapons while threatening to kill them.
He did not get the gun.
He faces a variety of charges including battery on a police officer..
