MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - An Alma Center meat locker is voluntarily recalling some of its products.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection announced the recall Friday.
The Alma Center Locker is recalling wieners and sausages produced before October 1st, because they contain soy, a potential allergen. The ingredient is not listed on the product label. A routine inspection turned up the labeling problem.
According to the DATCP, the products were sold in the company's retail shop in Alma Center and door-to-door in Jackson County.
This is part of the release from the DATCP regarding the recall:
Alma Center Locker is recalling natural casing wieners, skinless wieners, beef summer sausage, pork summer sausage, Polish sausage, Packer bratwurst, onion and garlic bratwurst, and bratwurst with pineapple. The label includes the A.C. Locker brand name, with dates prior to Oct. 1.
Consumers who are allergic to soy and have these products in their homes should discard them or return them where they bought them. For more information, they can call Marcia Christen, 715-964-5781.
Symptoms in people with food allergies may include shortness of breath, skin reactions and stomach upset. While most people do not have food allergies, anyone who eats a specific food and experiences symptoms should consult a doctor.
