MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Federal prosecutors have sued a Wisconsin concrete company for allegedly cutting a National Guard soldier's hours and responsibilities after he returned from Iraq.
According to court documents, Rocco Sylvester Jr., of Portage, worked for Mort's Concrete, Inc., in Rio as a foreman. Sylvester was called to Iraq in June 2004.
When he returned in November 2005, he found his hours had been cut, he no longer supervised a work crew and no longer had the use of a company truck.
The lawsuit alleges the company didn't reinstate him in his previous position or one similar to it, a violation of federal law.
Online court records did not list an attorney for Mort's Concrete. A number listed for the company had been disconnected.
