WHITEHALL, Wisconsin (WXOW)- A local school district closed early today due to health and safety concerns over the H1N1 virus and other related illnesses.
The Whitehall School District closed all school activites and school buildings at three thirty today (October 29).
Whitehall School District Superintendant Mike Beigley says student absences due to illness have been on average 150 kids per day for the past week and many ill students are only in class to keep up with schoolwork.
During this closing, custodial and maintenance staff will continue to clean and disinfect school buildings.
School busses will also be disinfected.
The district will re-open with normal operation and hours on Tuesday, November third.
