Osseo (WQOW) -- Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, were involved in a search for a mother from Osseo and her two children on Monday.
The kids are okay and are with other family members. Their mother is now in the hospital. Investigators say as part of a custody arrangement, Kaiya Walker was supposed to bring her kids to their father yesterday in Jackson County, but that never happened. As officers started looking for them, they spoke with a friend of Walker's who says he gave her a loaded gun Sunday.
Walker was in Eau Claire at some point because she left her cell phone at a convenience store. Eventually, one of the children called other family members from a Minnesota hotel. When police arrived, they found the gun. They say it had not been fired.
