LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)- There's been some talk lately that Archbishop Raymond Burke, former Bishop Burke of La Crosse could be appointed Cardinal.
Currently, he is the head of the Vatican Supreme Court.
Today, Dr. Christian Mugridge, a Vatican analyst for Relevant Radio, a Catholic talk radio network, made a stop in La Crosse to discuss issues affecting the Catholic body.
Dr. Mugridge also shares a friendship with Archbishop Raymond Burke.
Mugridge says the archbishop's love for his fellow archbishops, bishops, and priest is evident.
And the Vatican analyst says his recent appointment to a group that oversees the selection of bishops around the world is a good fit.
There's been much speculation that Archbishop Burke could be appointed to the status of Cardinal.
Mugridge says that's a calling from God, not a personal choice.
She says being Cardinal doesn't make you more superior, but it does increase your service responsibilities, something she personally believes he is up to.
A high opinion coming from an informed Catholic who knows the Archbishop and the inner workings of the Vatican.
The Cardinals vote on the next pope during a closed meeting.
Mugridge says you have to be sensitive to the Holy Sprit and accountable to God's choice.
Dr. Christine Mugridge also founded a non-profit organization called Sacred Arts Communication which uses all means of social communications for Catholic faith and Catholic Culture.
