
Westby, WI (WXOW)-- The public got a sneak peek at a local dam construction project Sunday. Jersey Valley Park has been under construction while workers repair the dam in Westby.
"Since it is a rather large project at more than $2.3 million, this gives the public the opportunity to ask questions, and comment, and provide their views, and take a look at the construction in progresss." Jacobs says construction will halt for the winter. The park reopens in the spring.
Cracks in the sediment caused leakage, so the plan is to fill those cracks with cement.
The county opened the park for the public to come and ask questions about the project.
