ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW)- 73 alcohol compliance checks were recently conducted throughout La Crosse County.
12 establishments failed, resulting in an 84% success rate of businesses with liquor licenses denying the sale of alcohol to minors.
The compliance check was a partnership between local law enforcement agencies including City of La Crosse, Onalaska, West Salem, and Campbell working with groups such as Coulee Council on Addiction and the La Crosse County Health department.
Jane Podella one of the owners at All Star Lanes in La Crosse says they work hard to not serve alcohol to minors.
So, when the tavern found out they had passed a recent countywide compliance check they were pleased with their efforts.
Law enforcement agencies from La Crosse County began performing the alcohol compliance checks in October.
The checks are not over.
Trotnic says, “We will be doing another check and make this an ongoing program.”
And law enforcement agencies will be expecting improvement in alcohol compliance.
These businesses with liquor licenses failed.
