
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)- The La Crosse Police department and Sheriff’s department are getting a big boost to help crack down on drunk drivers.
The agencies are receiving 114,000 dollars from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to put extra patrols on the road.
The La Crosse Police Department will also receive 15,000 dollars to help fund alcohol compliance checks, underage drinking education programs, and patrols for underage house parties.
Law enforcement is also reminding patrons of the La Crosse County Tavern League establishments about the “Safe Ride” program which allows patrons to get a ride safely back home free of charge.
