Now, there's a proposal to name the official Wisconsin motorcycle.
A bill working its way through the legislature would name Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson as the official state motorcycle.
Milwaukee Democratic Rep. Leon Young says the idea came from a family member of Sgt. Jeremy Vrooman, who was killed last year while serving in Iraq. He contends the long history of the company makes it appropriate to honor them with the designation.
William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson built the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle in 1903 in Milwaukee, where they continue to be built today.
