La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - New details Friday about the man arrested for robbing a La Crosse bank.
Police arrested 45 year old Walter Munnich Thursday in a motel just blocks from the scene of the robbery.
It happened Tuesday afternoon at the Associated bank in Bridgeview Plaza on Rose Street.
Prosecutors say the note the robber handed the teller read quote he "was there to rob the place and not to cause any problems or he would blow the place up because he was carrying a bomb."
The teller handed over some cash and the man left.
Acting on a tip from the public who saw the photo on news reports, police arrested Munnich two days later.
Police say Munnich at first denied involvement in the robbery, but eventually admitted his guilt.
Munnich faces up to 40-years in prison.
