MILWAUKEE (AP) - A gunshot was fired after a Milwaukee police officer on bike patrol was hit by a fleeing car and dragged.
Police say two officers on bikes approached the car about 10:30 p.m. Thursday and the driver suddenly accelerated, striking one officer. The second officer fired a shot at the fleeing vehicle, which was believed to be stolen. The 17-year-old driver was arrested later after he went to a local hospital with a knee injury. Police say the suspect was not hit by gunfire. The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries.
