Area man finalist for PCH grand prize

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - You've no doubt seen the commercials for the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes thinking, "No one really ever wins those things. Do they?"

Well, a La Crosse man is among 211 finalists who could win $1 million. Being a finalist, Robert Humm is already guaranteed $1,000 according to the sweepstakes.

The 39-year-old said he just decided to give the contest a try and will remain optimistic whether or not he's the grand-prize winner.

Humm said, "Either way it's about $995 more than I've ever won before at one time, so I'll take it."

Humm finds out on Monday if he's La Crosse's newest millionaire. He says if he wins, a new truck and bedroom set will be among his family's first purchases.
