Kapanke urges AWOL senators to return to debate budget bill

MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- There is still no word of return from any of the 14 Democrat state senators who fled to Illinois to delay a vote on Governor Walker's bill.

Republican State Senator Dan Kapanke says he still supports the bill.

"The fiscal situation that we're in right now has been on the horizon for many, many years. Previous administrations and previous legislative sessions here have just looked the other way, senators, assemblyman and the administration. So we're standing up. We have to," Kapanke says.

Only one of the missing senators needs to return to the chamber to proceed with the vote.
