The No. 6 seeded Golden Gophers will face the winner of today's game between No. 5 seeded Iowa and No. 4 seeded Purdue. Iowa beat Illinois 81-62 yesterday to advance.
PHOENIX (AP) - The Milwaukee Brewers beat the mistake-prone Colorado Rockies 5-3 yesterday. The Brewers scored twice in the eighth with the help of four of Colorado's five errors. Elian Herrera hit a solo home run in the seventh inning off the glove of leaping right fielder Ryan Wheeler.
MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team and its owner are being sued by a lender. Thomas Phillips claims he loaned owner Sue Black $200,000 shortly after he was named CEO of the team last year. Phillips lawsuit claims Black agreed to make quarterly interest payments on the loan but made only a single payment of $100,000 last August.
LAS VEGAS (AP) - IBF light middleweight champion Carlos Molina has been jailed in Las Vegas two days before a scheduled fight. Molina is being held on a federal immigration hold and a warrant accusing him of failing to register as a sex offender seven years ago in Wisconsin. Molina was arrested Tuesday on a 2007 warrant from Outagamie (out-ah-GAY'-mee) County, Wisconsin.
