Michele Bachmann outlines details for Iowa announcement

WATERLOO, Iowa (WXOW) - Minnesota Congresswoman and Waterloo native Michele Bachmann has released details about her upcoming visit to Iowa, where she will formally announce her campaign to become President of the United States.

A Welcome Home Event is planned at the Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo, Sunday, June 26th.
The party will begin at 5:30pm, and Bachmann says "all of Iowa" is invited.

Bachmann's formal announcement will happen Monday morning at the Snowden House in Waterloo.  The announcement will happen at 9:00 a.m.

When asked why she's making her announcement in Waterloo, Bachmann said, "I think the values that I learned in Waterloo are the values that are what the American success story is about. And that's what I want to take to the White House."

After making her campaign announcement, Michele Bachmann will head to New Hampshire, but will return to Iowa for a bus tour during the 4th of July holiday weekend.
No details have been released about the tour, but Bachmann says she plans on taking part in a few parades.

"This is historic. This is an Iowan who wants to take an Iowa voice to the White House. It's historic and I'd like Iowa to be a part of this and come along with me on this journey."
