In a time where healthcare costs seem to be going through the roof, seniors say its becoming more challenging to find quality affordable care.
More than a dozen area seniors met at the La Crescent Public Library today to learn about UCARE, one of Minnesota's leading healthcare plans.
A representative from the non profit organization talked to seniors about their Medicare Advantage Plans.
Seventy five year old Donald Melby is just one senior at the meeting looking for a new coverage plan.
Because of rising costs he's been forced to switch providers.
Living on a fixed income he says finding a quality plan that fits in the budget is challenging.
"My biggest concern is the cost of changing this year after year. Regardless of what plan I have the premiums will keep going up or coverage will disappear which has been happening and will continue to happen," says Melby.
Just like Melby seniors we spoke with say finding quality affordable healthcare coverage is their biggest concern.
