NEW YORK, NY (ABC) - Every year many music stars put out their own interpretation of Christmas Carols.
But it's the "Jingle Cats" who've kept up their popularity since the first "Jingle Cat" Christmas recording hit the airwaves in 1991.
Cats singing it's a holiday season DVD like no other.
The same familiar tunes with a twist - the crooners are cats.
A group of nine, and Petunia is one of the star performers.
Spalla says, "each cat has their own little range. And Petunia has a nice, high meow."
"Jingle Cats" is the creation of Mike Spalla. He rescued the cats from the streets of Hollywood and discovered their talent. But Spalla will tell you it isn't easy to get a room full of rising stars to cooperate.
Spalla says, "you know, I have to get them to meow right on the beat, so you have to wait a long time, play the music and get them to come in right at the right moment. Very difficult."
Like the "Jingle Cats", Mike discovered another star - Kaiser - the singing dog. His is the face on the cover of the new "Jingle Dogs" CD
Mueller says, "we showed him the album, and he's kind of - 'hummm, i wonder if that's me. He looks around, to the right and left and wondering if 'that's me' and I look at him and say yeah, that's me - yeah that's you."
