Winter weather keeps Tri-State busy

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)- Our recent snow storm kept Tri-State ambulance busy.

From noon on Tuesday till 8:00 p.m. yesterday, Tri-State received 66 requests for ambulance service.

14 of those calls were directly related to the snow storm with the falls and accidents being the number one call crews responded to.

Tri-State workers recommend people wear shoes have good tread to prevent falling and put out salt or sand.

The second highest call Tri-State responded to was cardiac related problems.

Overall, request for their services between noon on Tuesday and 8 p.m. Wednesday were up 27%.

Franciscan Skemp is reporting between Tuesday and this morning six people with chest pains and a total of around ten people with ankle or back pain had come into the ER or urgent care.

Gundersen Lutheran says there were a number of people that slipped and fell, injured in accidents, and experience chest pains.
