Sean Tehan joined the News 19 team as a Multimedia Journalist in February 2014. Before joining News 19, Sean attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. At UW-Whitewater, Sean was heavily involved at the on-campus television and radio stations, UWW-TV and 91.7 the Edge, respectively. At UWW-TV, Sean worked his way to becoming an award-winning journalist. As a co-producer and co-host for “P.E.O.M.I.O.S.F.Y.R.D.S.”, a popular specialty show, Sean earned a Wisconsin Broadcasters’ Association 2nd-place award for non play-by-play sports programming.
Sean was also a play-by-play broadcaster for UWW-TV, covering a wide variety of sports. Sean has always been a hard working journalist determined to improve during every broadcast and as a result, Sean’s consistent work ethic helped him earn a Wisconsin Broadcasters’ Association first-place award in sports play-by-play programming. Although he was an award-winning sports journalist, it was during his college years at UW-Whitewater where Sean developed a true passion for television. During college, Sean was also a Television News Intern at WTMJ in Milwaukee. At WTMJ, Sean learned from some of the best anchors, reporters, producers, photographers and editors in television news on what makes a station successful.
After graduating from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and prior to being named as a Multimedia Journalist at News 19, Sean served as an independent contractor for a pair of television production companies, PlayOn! Sports and High School Cube. With these companies, Sean’s chief duties included broadcasting, producing and videography. Sean is a television nerd, a rollercoaster fanatic, a movie buff, and he is proud to call himself part of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers faithful. He is originally from Waukesha, Wis.
