Happy Labor Day! This morning when you look out the window it's not going to look promising. But the second half of the day won't be all that bad; just maybe a little muddy. This morning scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist but slowly taper off as the morning wears on. By noon, the activity should be completely through the area. After that, look for gradually clearing skies as drier air moves in from the northwest. One big improvement we'll see today is much cooler temperatures with highs generally in the upper 70s. So don't worry, your barbeque isn't ruined, it's just going to take the morning before the weather starts cooperating with everyone's holiday plans. Heading into the overnight a few stray showers are possible although for the most part the Coulee Region will remain dry. Tuesday is shaping up to be a nice day for back to school with partly cloudy skies and highs around 80. But parents you may want to send your child out the door with a sweater! Temperatures will be around 60 at 7am. Have a great holiday! -Stormtracker 19 Meteorologist Madeline Sky
