Dustin is an Onalaska native who spent much of his time growing up on a baseball diamond. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
While in college, Dustin worked full-time at WXOW's sister station, WQOW. In the mornings, he would run the audio board before rushing off to class only to return again many afternoons to cover local sports. He also worked and volunteered at UW-Eau Claire's campus television station, TV-10.
Dustin has been honored for his work as a collegiate journalist. He received the Wisconsin Broadcaster's Association Howard Gernetzke Scholarship as well as top honors as a sports anchor from both the WBA and Northwest Broadcast News Association student awards.
While he enjoys being home, Dustin is on a mission to visit every state in the country, but his travels don't end at the border. Growing up, he visited places like England, France and New Zealand with his family and has twice road-tripped to Montreal, Canada with friends.
As a self-described "Political Junkie" Dustin enjoys election season almost as much as golf season. When he's not working at WXOW, he can often be found in the sand, rough or just about anywhere but the fairway at one of the Coulee Region's many fine golf courses.
