LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)- A local middle school principal ditched his normal suit and tie to don a spam costume.
No, it doesn't have anything to do with Halloween, but a good cause.
Logan Middle School Principal Troy Harcey put on the spam costume, complete with red tights, and served up samples of spam during the school's lunch periods.
It's all part of a fundraiser.
Last week, students and staff could place votes for who they wanted to see wear the spam costume by donating to a school program.
Principal Troy Harcey received the most votes, raising a little over 90 dollars for the "Biggest Ham in a Can" competition.
The money is going to Logan Middle School Renaissance Program which helps recognize students for a variety of academic efforts including honor roll, extra effort, and perfect attendance.
Principal Harcey says he would wear the costume the rest of the day.
