Investigators examine evidence in Theresa Still's death

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Investigators continue to look over evidence in the death of Altoona resident Theresa Still.

Police are pouring over evidence in her death. The body of the missing Altoona mother was found Wednesday in a remote wooded area in Adams County. Partial autopsy results were released Friday. And although a time of death was established, it hasn't been released.

"They are still working in Adams County and they have sent people up from Adams County to help us here," said Scott Kelley of the Altoona Police Department on Friday.

Investigators spent Sunday looking over evidence taken from Theresa's home, her car and her boyfriend's truck. The Altoona Police Chief says surveillance footage from Target, where her car was found, is also being reviewed.

"As far as the Altoona Police Department is concerned," said Kelley, "pretty much every officer has had some part in this."

This week police will continue to collect and sort through evidence.

Theresa's death is classified as a homicide and the case: a criminal investigation. Theresa's boyfriend, Greg Gubernot, has been named the only person of interest and, as of Sunday, is not in custody. The Altoona Police Chief told News 18 investigators talked with the district attorney but would not elaborate further.

"Currently, we're working with several agencies, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Adams County along with pretty much every local law enforcement agency into this investigation," said Kelley.

Meanwhile, friends and family are preparing for Theresa's funeral, which may take place this week. An Eau Claire funeral home says it's waiting for Theresa's body to be released before scheduling a funeral.

The Altoona Police Chief tells us there is a possibility more search warrants will be issued this week. But until there is a break in the case, no new information will be released.
