LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- A man pleads guilty in La Crosse County circuit court Monday, 14 years after he was charged in connection with theft.

Donald Johnson was charged in 1996 and then disappeared.

District Attorney Tim Gruenke says he turned himself in a year ago. But there's no word on where he was or what he did with the more than $850,000.

But Monday, Johnson entered a guilty plea to a class C felony theft charge.

According to the criminal complaint, he's charged in connection with taking money from client's personal accounts over a seven month period in 1995.

After turning himself in, he made an initial appearance in October 2009. Johnson is held on a $500,000 cash bond.
