Freedom Honor Flight holds reunion

La Crosse, WI (WXOW)- Freedom Honor Flight flies veterans to Washington D.C., free of charge.

Sunday, veterans gathered at the La Crosse Center to remember that trip.

About 100 veterans took the trip to Washington, D.C. back in June.

Veterans toured the World War II Memorial along with Korean and Vietnam War memorials.

Those who served in the military say its an experience one will never forget.

"I was in in the Navy for 2 years and I enjoyed the flight very much. It was worth waiting 63 years for it. It was really great," says veteran Norman Paulus.

A third flight is planned for October 2009.

Donations are needed to make the trip possible.

Veteran who wish to apply may contact the veterans association at 608-784-1015 or visit
