WONEWOC, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The funeral service for Capt. Russell Seager is getting underway in Wonewoc. Seager is one of the victims of the Fort Hood shootings.
The funeral is at the Wonewoc Center School in Wonewoc.
The funeral and burial are planned in Wonewoc because Seager is a native of the area.
A coworker of Seager's at the V.A. Medical Center in Milwaukee said he made it his passion to help other soldiers cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Another fellow soldier described how she helped set up Seager's pending deployment when they were both part of the 352nd Combat Support Hospital.
Seager ultimately was set to deploy with Madison-based 367th Medical Detachment.
Seager is the second Wisconsin soldier who was a victim of the shootings. There was a funeral service on Saturday, Sgt. Amy Krueger of Kiel.
WXOW's Julie Salomone is in Wonewoc and will have reports this evening on Live at Five and the 6pm Report.
