ST. CHARLES, Minnesota (WXOW) -- A city council candidate in St. Charles in Winona County is jailed after authorities say they found a marijuana growing operation at his home and business.
Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says deputies confiscated plants amounting to 17 pounds of marijuana from Stephen Conlin's home, shed and barbershop. Brand says they also recovered about $1,100 in cash and a half dozen guns.
Conlin is one of four candidates running for two seats on the St. Charles City Council. His name will be on the Nov. 2 ballot.
The case has been referred to the Winona County attorney's office for review of charges.
