Heather Armstrong

Heather Armstrong started at News 19 in November of 2010.

She co-anchors the weekday 6 & 10 PM newscasts and produces the 5 PM news cut-in and the 6 PM show.

Before coming to News 19, Heather was a Reporter in Los Angeles and at KBAK in Bakersfield, CA.   She has won various awards but most recently an 2010 Emmy for the PSA, "Kids Finance" which she produced/directed.

Heather was offered a Weekend Anchor position out of school from WTAJ-TV in Altoona, PA  but declined to work on Wall Street for an investment firm.  The company's top producer said he was moving to California and offered Heather a job.  She took it but soon after moving to the west coast started pursuing News.

She interned at CNN, CBS, CBS Sports and Fox Sports Net in Los Angeles where she was later hired.

Heather is an active volunteer in the community and can often be seen taking her 3 dogs to nursing homes and day programs for adults with disabilities.  She is an advocate for people with disabilities and her brother who has Prader-Willie Syndrome.
