SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- Governor Scott Walker is acting on his promise to issue layoff notices.
The Association of State Prosecutors are among the groups that received notice.
Layoffs could begin April 4th.
Monroe County District Attorney Dan Cary says his office is already short three prosecutors.
"We're so dreadfully short right now that we can't afford to lose any of the people that we have. There's some promise in the future, but right now, we can't afford to lose anybody," Cary says.
Cary says his office ranks third in the state when it comes to the need for additional prosecutors.
