ARCHIVE-JULY 2011-Cause of BRF area restaurant fire still not known

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The investigation continues into the cause of a fire that destroyed a Black River Falls area landmark restaurant.

Firefighters were called out at midnight on July 9th to the Rustic Mill Supper Club just south of Black River Falls in the Town of Albion.  By the time they arrived, the building was already heavily on fire says Fire Chief Steve Schreiber.

Six other departments assisted Black River Falls' firefighters in trying to control the fire.

Crews were on the scene for more than 15 hours according to Schreiber.

A damage estimate is in excess of $500,000, although the property was insured.

No one was injured in the fire.

Schreiber says that the cause is under investigation in cooperation with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Fire Marshal's Office.

The photos were supplied by BRF Fire Chief Steve Schreiber.
