
LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW-TV) - The Loggers finished off their final games before the Northwoods League All-Star break with a split of the Madison Mallards, dropping game one 9-7, but bouncing back to take game two 5-4.
Madison took the early 1-0 lead in game two when Andrew Barna doubled to the gap in right center to score Jordan Owen.
The Loggers trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the second but with two on Tyler Smith sent a shot down the left field line, that brought in Jimmy Bosco to make it 2-1.
La Crosse tied it up then took the lead off Louie Lechich's grounder to second that scored Smith.
With the bases loaded in 3rd, Owen's 2 run RBI single gave Madison a 4-3 lead, but in the bottom half the Loggers responded again when Jimmy Bosco's brought in Trentt Copeland to tie the game at 4 all.
Andrew Knapp's solo homer in the fifth gave the Loggers the lead for good. La Crosse now heads into the All-Star break with three days off, before hitting the road for a game on Wednesday at the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
