La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - More than 400 bicycle riders pedaled 98 miles to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation today.
'Ride to the Cure' is an annual event that brings riders from all over the United States.
5 different rides take place throughout the United States this year...but La Crosse's ride is the largest in the nation.
Each rider must raise a minimum of $2,000 in order to participate.
"This is my 5th JDRF Ride to the Cure. Unfortunately, we have a lot of friends that have been touched. Obviously, that have kids that have type 1, and I feel blessed that my kids are healthy and it's part of my community outreach. It's a great organization," said rider Julie Kay Sheldon.
The ride today is expected to raise $800,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
