Onalaska, WI (WXOW) - A local man is in critical condition in a California hospital following a clash between police and protestors in Oakland, California.
Scott Olsen has family in Onalaska.
He is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran who served two tours in Iraq.
Olsen was part of the Occupy Oakland Protest. He was injured in a clash between police and protesters.
Dottie Guy, of the Iraq Veterans Against the War, an advocacy group for Vets, says Olsen sustained a skull fracture during this clash.
A spokesman for Highland Hospital in Oakland says he was in critical condition.
Olsen was hit by a projectile while marching toward city hall.
Guy said it was not immediately clear if Olsen would need surgery.
