LA CROSSE, WI(WXOW)--The Mississippi Valley Conservancy received a $15,000 dollar grant for a documentary film on Monday, November 21st.
The grant came from the La Crosse Community Foundation and announced at the top of Miller Bluff, next to Grandad bluff.
The Conservancy and a group called Untamed Science will co-produce the documentary. "Mysteries of the Driftless" is the title of the film.
It will focus on rare plants, animals, and remnants of a native American pilgrimage.
"We're thrilled to get this grant from the La Crosse Community Foundation it's an enormous boost to our film project and this is just a wonderful opportunity to showcase what's so incredible about our natural landscape here,"said MVC Executive Director, Tim Jacobson.
The MVC is about half-way to its fundraising goal of about $66,000 dollars to help fund this documentary. Overall, Jacobson says the goal of the film is to ignite the curiosity of viewers to discover more about our area for themselves.
