LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Nearly 2,000 people gathered at the La Crosse Center Saturday night for the Dancing With The La Crosse Stars.
The event features eleven local celebrities, one of which was WXOW's own Weekend Sports Anchor Dustin Luecke. The celebrities were paired up with area professional dancers and performed a dance of their choice.
While the dancers compete for the Dancing With The La Crosse Stars title and gold ball, the event is actually a fundraiser for the Scenic Bluffs Chapter of the American Red Cross.
While our own Dustin Luecke and his partner Paige Krumbach danced the tango, they were not the winners of the event.
That honor went to Ryan Johnson of B.A. Burrito and his partner Kayla Wagner.
Due to the popularity of the event, Dancing With The La Crosse Stars moved to the La Crosse Center for the first time this year.
The move paid off as the event raised a record $89,000, which eclipses the old record set last year of $83,000.
