Eau Claire County (WQOW) - There's been a development surrounding a sand mining moratorium.
Just days after a Winona company sued Eau Claire County over its moratorium, the county agrees to take another look at the issue.
High Country is suing the county for refusing to process its application to mine sand on almost 80 acres southwest of Augusta. That application was submitted one day before the moratorium was enacted.
Now, two county committees will consider an amendment that would allow processing of the two mining applications that were received before the moratorium took effect.
A joint meeting is set for next Tuesday. Any changes would require county board approval.
