Sparta, WI (WXOW)-- The Sparta Fire Department was called to a barn fire Saturday night. The 911 call came from the barn's owners at roughly 10:30 PM.
Fire Chief Mike Arnold says the barn was engulfed in flames when his men arrived on the scene.
The fire was likely caused by a heat lamp in the barn.
No one was injured and the dogs and cats in the barn made it out safely. The house on the property wasn't damaged. However the barn and the silo next to it are total losses.
One of the home's owners spoke with us off camera today. She says she was grateful the wind was blowing away from the house last night, which helped protect it from the fire.
