SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Third District Congressional Republican candidate Ray Boland picks up an endorsement from his fellow Republicans in Monroe County.
The county party gave their support to Boland at their annual caucus Sunday according to Chairman John Christy. In a release, Christy stated, "It is unusual to endorse this early in the contest, but since we have such an excellent candidate from Monroe County, the members wanted to show Ray their support."
Boland is the former installation commander at Fort McCoy.
While he has served in state government, as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, this is his first foray into elected political office.
Rep. Ron Kind is the incumbent in the Third Congressional District.
