Madison, WI (WXOW) - Democratic State Senator Kathleen Vinehout took a formal step towards running for Governor in a recall.
Vinehout changed her state-filed campaign registration statement to indicate she's running for Governor, instead of a State Senate seat.
Her Senate colleague, Tim Cullen, announced Thursday, he was shelving his plans to run citing the challenge of raising the money needed to compete.
Governor Walker has more than $2-million available for campaigning. Vinehout has $20,000 on hand, but she says a fundraising disadvantage can be overcome.
A Democratic primary appears likely because former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk has already announced she's running.
