Rodgers named MVP

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Unlike previous years, football fans have had to wait a few more weeks to find out who earns the NFL's top individual honor, but on the eve of Super Bowl 46 between the Giants and Patriots, Packers fans could at least take some consolation.

By a landslide vote of 48-2, the Associated Press chose Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the NFL's Most Valuable Player.

Rodgers led the league with a record passer rating this season of 122.5, eclipsing Peyton Manning's previous mark. The Packers' 4th year starter also threw a team record 45 touchdowns with only six interceptions.

Rodgers becomes the first Packer to win the honor since Brett Favre won three straight in the late 90's.
