Search continues in Jackson Co. for missing man

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Jackson County authorities continue to look for a missing man last seen January 25th.

Sheriff Duane Waldera says that Gene Cloud, Jr. was seen on that day after his car slid into a ditch in Millston Township.  A deputy sheriff tried to talk to Cloud, who ran off on foot.  According to the deputy, it didn't appear that Cloud was injured in the car accident.

Since that time, family members have not heard from him.  They formally reported him missing on January 27th.

Cloud, Jr. is a 20-year-old Native American male.  He's 5'8" and approximately 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black tennis shoes.

He was also carrying a six-month old brown short hair Daschund puppy.

Officers are searching cabins and abandoned homes in the Jackson County area.  They ask that the public check their sheds, cabins, and land specifically in the Townships of Millston, Knapp, and Bear Bluff.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at 715-284-5357 or the Ho-Chunk Nation Police Department at 715-284-9343, ext. 3433.
