La Crosse, WI (WXOW) Gundersen Lutheran is more than halfway to its goal of $70 million for the construction project known as Campus Renewal.
They broke ground about a year ago and began raising money. So far, they've raised $38 million, $8 million of which has come from hospital employees.
Now they're asking for help from the community who they say will benefit from the investment.
The new part of the building, scheduled for completion at the end of 2013, will include private rooms for patients, a new operating facility, E.R. and trauma center.
