BEAVER DAM, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources is warning people to stay off the ice after an accident at Beaver Dam.

Six snowmobilers fell through the ice.

One is dead, and four more are injured.

"People have to realize the conditions are bad," said Heather Gottschalk, of the DNR.

"Ice is never safe and this year it's exceptionally dangerous, and they really need to consider whether it's worth going out there or not."
