MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Wisconsin State Senate has unanimously passed a bill that would provide people on unemployment a chance to receive part-time training that may lead to full-time work.
Participants in the one-year pilot program would receive an additional $75 a week in unemployment benefits. About 500 people are expected to enroll in the program.
The bill now heads to the Governor Scott Walker, who has said he supports the bill.
