12 Percent of Wisconsin's Judges Support Walker Recall Effort

La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) – 29 judges, nine of which are from Western Wisconsin , have signed recall petitions against Republican Governor Scott Walker.  This includes three of the five judges in La Crosse County.

That's according to a study conducted by a Wisconsin Media Corporation – and that number translates to roughly 12 percent of all judges in the Badger State.

Here is the list of judges that signed a recall petition according to the study:

La Crosse County:  Judges Todd Bjerke, Ramona Gonzalez, and Dale Pasell

Buffalo County: James J. Duvall

Crawford County: James P. Czajkowski

Jackson County: Thomas E. Lister

Monroe County: J. David Rice

Trempealeau County: John A. Damon

Vernon County: Michael J. Rosborough

The Sheboygan Press reports Sunday that the judges who agreed to be interviewed say their decisions were constitutionally protected, and are not banned by the Wisconsin Code of Judicial Conduct.

Judges who signed the petitions say their choices were constitutionally protected.

None of those who signed are seated on a Wisconsin Appeals Court – or the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
