La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - A La Crosse man will go to prison for hiding the body of a drug overdose victim in La Crosse.
57-year-old Robert Moss was sentenced Wednesday to one year in prison and two years of extended supervision.
Prosecutors say, in August, Moss hid the body of 41-year-old Anthony Ducharme in Red Cloud Park to avoid charges.
An autopsy confirmed that Ducharme had died from a drug overdose.
Three others are charged in connection with Ducharme's death, including Moss' 26-year-old son Cain, 38-year-old Christina Lorenz and 60-year-old Patrick Valiquette.
Police say Cain Moss and Lorenz told officers Ducharme died after using drugs with them.
They decided, with the help of Valiquette and Robert Moss, to get rid of Ducharme's body in order to avoid prosecution for giving him drugs that led to his death.
Valiquette and Cain Moss are charged with 1st degree reckless homicide and hiding a corpse.
They are expected to appear in court in May.
Valiquette is charged with hiding a corpse he will be sentenced in May.
